I’ve been talking about starting a Colorist podcast for over 10 years! Finally after lots of talk my new Podcast is live.

In the ‘Color Tour’ Podcast I chat to Colorists in different locations around the world. It starts in the grading suite then moves to a local bar or restaurant.

I started using DaVinci Resolve in 2005. It was a $300,000 system, the hardware rack was the size of a doorway and it took a Resolve engineer two days to install. In 2006 I met with Mike Seymour and John Montgomery, who said they were thinking of opening an online university.

I first spoke to Terrance Young in 2013 when he contacted me about coloring his first feature film 500 miles. Unfortunately I wasn’t available, so missed the chance to work together, the film went on to be a low budget success.

The Colorist Society International CSI was launched during the 2016 NAB Colorist Mixer. 

That first anniversary has just passed so what has changed? I sat down with CSI co founder Jim Wicks at NAB and discussed some of the things the CSI has been up to.

I first worked with Paul Brodie in 1993. I was the colorist at Chrysalis TV in London and he was a runner fresh out of arts school. We got on very well and still do today, mostly due to a love of beer and football.
