Color Tour Podcast Episode 13: Chema Alba, Madrid, Spain
Chema Alba is one of Spain’s premier color graders. He started out at a film scanning company. Handling film gave him the taste for colouring so he pursued the big manufactures to loan him a machine so he could practice. This showed his enthusiasm as at the time he wasn’t a colorist and the systems were over $300,000!
Chema now works at Deluxe Madrid and has seen it transform from a film lab to digital facility. He talks about working with legend director Pedro Almodóvar who directed one of the biggest grossing Spanish films ever ‘The Skin I live in.’ We then discus how he has recently started to grade more TV including big shows for Netflix like the popular ‘Elite’
